When geeting a new parakeet, note that he/she is not a toy that will sit in his/her's cage 24 7. He/she will need to fly. flap, play, eat, drink, you name it. On top of that, they need love and care. But that doesn't mean they don't make wonderful pets! They are very cute and will love you. They are easier to take care of than bigger birds and their bites do not cause damage or bleeding. Bigger birds are wonderful pets but parakeets are great for first time bird owners. When you get a parakeet you'll need the following items:
A blue male parakeet.
A reasonable sized cage
Parakeet Food Formula
Water
Cuttle Bone
Toys
Perches ( They usually come with the cage)
When getting a parakeet, go to a honest and reliable breeder or pet store. (When I got my parakeet I went to Petsmart) Good luck with your new parakeet and have fun with him or her!
